Review

Overview4 out of 5

Whenever the novelty pollsters pop questions about people's least-favourite work-related phrases, there are always a few recurrent themes: 'let's run it up the flagpole and see who salutes', 'we've got to think outside the box', or 'there's no I in team.' (Which is true, but there is a 'me' if you look hard enough.)

So feel free to roll your eyes at Toyota's assertion that the latest Corolla Verso involves 'out-of-the-box thinking'. And what, pray, is the result of Toyota's amazing new vision? A seven-seat compact MPV with folding seats. Er, woo.

In case, like me, you're thinking that this isn't, in all honesty, something to be writing home about, it is at least the first in the compact MPV sector where the rear five seats all fold flat. Other than that, though, the Corolla Verso is a fairly unremarkable - albeit very competitive - compact MPV. It comes with three engine and trim options, and all are competitively priced and well equipped.
