Performance, most grown-up of tall-bodied city cars
Fidgety ride
Reasonable all-rounder that should be good value for money

The cabin is now much plusher thanks to better-quality trim and plastics. Overall the Wagon R+ is about as refined as other small city cars, but the ride gets choppy around town and the engine is intrusive at higher motorway speeds. The Wagon R+'s strongest card is its cabin space - it feels like a much bigger car thanks to the high roof and plentiful glass. And the upright driving position means that an averagely sized adult can sit reasonably comfortably behind a similarly sized driver. The boot is surprisingly commodious, too. UK spec still has to be finalised, but it will probably include a mid-range Clarion radio-cassette with four speakers.
