The Xsara Picasso has held its value well, as demand for compact MPVs has been so strong, but now there are more second-hand ones around, and it's getting cheaper to buy a new one anyway because residual (resale) values are slipping. Diesel versions are far more desirable second-hand than the petrols, as well as being more economical to run.
Cheap to buy, especially with all the Citroen incentives, the Picasso certainly packs in the kit for the price. However, if all the gadgets - sat nav, picnic tables, trolley etc. - don't really appeal, and you simply want a cheap, practical, utilitarian family holdall, the more basic Berlingo Multispace would be a better buy.
