Like the Peugeot 807, the C8 has been much-used by high-mileage taxi drivers and, on the whole, these models do seem to be basically solid.
The problems that have been reported are mainly with the electrics and electronics - owners have suffered failed electric doors, engine management and locking system faults - but there have also been reports of other general quality defects.
That said, the C8 has now been out for a while and should have been debugged by now; the latest examples we've seen seem finished to a high standard, and two- and three-year old C8s are not looking tatty. This 2003 model should hold together better in the long-term than its predecessor.
