Comfy ride, spacious in the front, cheap to buy and run, cheeky styling.
Limited rear room, tiny boot, SensoDrive gearbox; not as cute-looking or well-packaged as newer C1, or indeed, Renault Twingo.
Great value for money, as long as you don't bother spending out on the larger engines - 1.1 is a surprisingly good all-rounder. Feeling dated now, however.

Both the C2 and C3, to which it is related, have scored poorly in customer satisfaction surveys, but there have been few serious faults - it's mainly minor niggles, and both cars should be de-bugged by now. The SensoDrive gearbox has been troublesome, though.
The C2's dashboard is shared with the C3, but is finished in a lighter colour. Sadly, this hasn't made it feel any better - it's still of a harsh and cheap-feeling plastic, and the glovebox's loose lid fits very imprecisely. The rest of the trim, however, is fine and of decent enough material given the low price. There are coloured plastic inserts on the door trim and gearknob to lift the atmosphere.
