Category: Executive 3.5 out of 5

Summary of the Chrysler 300C (2005-2008)

Price Range: £27,600 to £32,500

Assets

Unique image, excellent value for money, more character than rivals, good Mercedes diesel V6.

Drawbacks

HEMI thirst, quality not on par with rivals, image may put some off.

Verdict

The 300C is an executive car like no other and will divide opinion. We love it - others will hate it.

Chrysler 300C Review

Reliability and Quality3 out of 5

All RHD 300Cs are built at Magna Steyr's factory in Graz, Austria, which is also responsible for building the new Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander. The build quality is high, with tight shutlines and a strong feel to the interior fixings. While the overall quality is better than other Chrysler products - and those of American rivals such as the Cadillac CTS and STS - they still fall short of the impeccable quality found in European rivals such as the Audi A6 and BMW 5-Series.

That said, the 300C uses many well-proven components from the Mercedes E-Class, including the gearbox and some switchgear, not to mention the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. There have been few complaints from owners, and only very minor glitches reported.
