Unique image, spectacular looks, lots of character, good Mercedes diesel engine.
Thirsty HEMI petrol engine, rather brash, not actually that roomy for such a huge vehicle.
An executive car like no other - you'll either love it or hate it. We love it.

Since its inaugural showing as a concept car in New York in 2003, and going on sale in America in 2004, the 300C has picked up more than 20 awards including accolades such as Hippest Car and America's Most Wanted Automobile of 2005.
It's loved by businessfolk and rap stars, first-time executive car buyers and jaded veterans looking for an alternative to the obvious German models.
The 300C comes in four-door saloon and Touring estate form. The Touring isn't an all-out wardrobe-shifter, with its steeply-raked tailgate, but it has a decent-sized boot and looks pretty damn good as well. It comes with the diesel engine only these days.
Most 300Cs sold in the UK come with the Mercedes-supplied 3.0-litre V6 diesel (215bhp, with five-speed automatic gearbox) though there is also the bonkers 6.1-litre HEMI V8 petrol (425bhp, 420lb ft) in the SRT-8 model.
You can get the looks of the SRT-8 with the diesel's better economy now, however, with the SRT Design trim. The 3.5-litre and 5.7-litre V8 petrol engines of the earlier range have now been discontinued in the UK.
Changes for 2008 have included new dashboard design, improved centre console with armrests and cupholders, interior LED lighting, new dark slate grey leather upholstery, a redesigned bootlid with lip spoiler, new tail-lights and automatic headlamps.
