Chevrolet Captiva (2007-) Review

Category: Small 4x4s 2 out of 5

Summary of the Chevrolet Captiva (2007-)

Price Range: £17,815 to £25,455

Assets

Good value for money, large and reasonably roomy, well-equipped; doesn't pretend to be a proper off-roader.

Drawbacks

Bouncy, wallowy ride; less-than-sharp handling; gutless petrol engine.

Verdict

Cheap and cheerful, but has no unique selling point, nor any reason to choose it over its similarly cut-price Korean rivals. Feels dated already.

Chevrolet Captiva Review

Used Value3 out of 5

Cheap to buy, and after all, how much value can you lose from a low starting point? A Captiva costs less than one year's depreciation of a Range Rover, Cayenne or similar. That said, don't expect too much cash back on your investment after a typical three-year ownership period. Low-mileage, ex-demo and pre-registered Captivas are already coming onto the market at useful savings.
