Admirable road-holding abilities, high-driving position, sporty styling.
Poor rearward visibility, cramped in the back, expensive to run, only four seats.
The X6 looks like a compromise - and it is. Despite delivering in terms of driveability and desirability, it's not a hugely practical car.

You'd be very unlucky if bits starting falling off your brand new X6. BMW performs well in customer satisfaction and reliability surveys, and it's usually high up the manufacturers' league tables for both.
Inside it's typical BMW. The dashboard oozes class and the controls are easy and simple to understand. It's still got the rather fiddly and cumbersome iDrive system, but after a while you get used to the rather tiresome navigation process. The leather upholstery is top quality and the centre console, complete with brushed metal finishing, cannot be faulted.
There are no squeaks or rattles and you get the distinct feeling that future owners will continue to enjoy this bulletproof cabin.
