Immense performance; offers superb comfort and refinement as well as driving pleasure
Very few: iDrive control system still fiddly, hard ride with the sports suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels - though that goes with the territory
The controversial styling has been toned down for 2005, but otherwise the Seven remains an uncompromising technological showcase

Models with the larger petrol engines will fall in value the quickest, but the 7-Series is proving popular with owner-operators in the chauffeur-drive sector, so demand for tidy, subtly-coloured cars is usually reasonably strong. Cars coming off the larger fleets can be good value, as they are usually specified with expensive options such as the rear-seat entertainment package. This is a desirable option which makes a Seven easier to sell on at a good price.
