BMW 7 Series (1994-2002) Review

Category: Large Executive 3 out of 5

Summary of the BMW 7 Series (1994-2002)

Price Range: £53,695 to £68,800

Assets

Not expensive by class standards, well made, wide range, a good drive.

Drawbacks

Big-engined versions are still depreciating fast. Apart from rear room, offers little over the smaller BMW 5-Series.

Verdict

Competent but somewhat undistinguished.

BMW 7-Series Review

Comfort and Equipment3 out of 5

Excellent front seats, with the options of sporting seats or multi-adjustable 'Comfort' versions, and even bum-massaging for long motorway hauls. Suspension is supple, though not the very best in this elevated class, but quietness is a strong point. Driving position is excellent. Big inside, and with the choice, on 740i and 750i, of a long-wheelbase body for real chauffeur-driven rear-seat comfort, with optional electrically reclining rear seats. The boot should swallow enough luggage for most trips. Well-featured and good-sounding system has control buttons in the steering wheel. Options include high-spec system integrated with a satellite navigation system and TV.
