BMW 318i (2008-) Review

Category: Compact Executive 5 out of 5

Summary of the BMW 318i (2008-)

Price Range: £49,525 to £54,860

Assets

Quick, economical; excellent engine; all the usual 3-Series attributes

Drawbacks

Not very roomy in the back; only a minor update for '09

Verdict

The entry-level 3-Series is no low-rent lead-in model, but a desirable, appealing vehicle in its own right

BMW 3 Series Review

Safety and Security5 out of 5

The 3-Series has scored the full five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests, and even this entry-level model has all the kit: six airbags, anti-whiplash head restraints, stability control, traction control, cornering brake control and dynamic brake control. Run-flat tyres are standard-fit, with tyre pressure monitoring, and SE models also have rear parking sensors and cruise control. There's a remote-control alarm and a Thatcham Category 1 immobiliser.
