Bentley Continental (2003-) Review

Category: Exotic Sports 4.5 out of 5

Summary of the Bentley Continental (2003-)

Price Range: £120,700 to £141,300

Assets

Wonderful engine and transmission. Secure, fun cornering thanks to well-sorted four-wheel drive. Delightful hand-finished cabin. Styling. Comfort.

Drawbacks

Weight. Thirst. Not too roomy in the back given overall length.

Verdict

Remarkably satisfying top-end GT.

Bentley Motors Continental Review

Running Costs3 out of 5

Could you describe a £120,000 car as good value? Depends what you're comparing it with. It's nearly £60,000 cheaper to buy than a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, but 17 grand more than a Mercedes CL600. It's a lot less thirsty than a Bentley Arnage, and it's in the same insurance group as an Audi S8. But, sure, it's no Hyundai.

Fuel is going to be the big one, not least because this is a car designed to be driven far and fast, and it will be almost impossible to average better than 15 miles to the gallon.
