Improving the Flying Spur's level of comfort has been a top priority for engineers even though the pre-facelift car was one of the most comfortable cars money could buy.
The new 2010 model year car gains acoustic glass in the side and rear windows, greater sound insulation in the wheelarches and a retuned exhaust to minimise any intrusion from the huge 6.0-litre engine.
Now the brand claims the Spur is the most refined car in its class.
The suspension has also undergone a rethink. Thankfully, Bentley hasn't been tempted to make the standard Flying Spur sportier and has concentrated on providing a cosseting ride with new springs, dampers and anti-roll bar settings as well as working with tyre-maker Pirelli to improve bump absorption.
As a result the Flying Spur shrugs off the worst poorly surfaced roads can throw at it.
Alas, even with its monster pricetag, Flying Spur buyers could still face an expensive visit to the options list.
Get carried away and you can easily spend the same amount of money as a well-equipped Ford Mondeo. Go really mad and you will sink the cost of a Porsche Cayman in options alone.
