Power, strong acceleration, great interior, comfortable ride, top-drawer refinement.
Not as elegant to look at as the GT, horrendous thirst.
Remains an appealing, luxurious car with near-supercar performance.

Four years since Bentley took the decision to stretch its Continental GT, the Flying Spur is ripe for a facelift. Instead of a loud and brash declaration that the big Bentley has been under the knife the British firm has chosen a more subtle approach.
The revised Flying Spur gains a more upright grille and rounder soft new tail-lamps. Crucially, at the front the revised Bentley sports two wiper lower air intakes. These small stylistic changes are essential because they allow greater amounts of air to enter the engine enabling the firm to develop a 600bhp Speed version that cracks 200mph.
The introduction of a Speed model has allowed a change in philosophy for the Flying Spur range. Where the Speed is faster, sportier and imposing with its 20" wheels, it has allowed engineers to soften the standard car.
Softening hasn't meant detuning though, and the 552bhp twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 engine carries over unchanged. The suspension has been tweaked, however, and the ride has improved and refinement boosted.
Now the firm claims it is the quietest and most refined the luxury class, but is it the best?
Pricing begins at £120,700.
