Bentley Arnage (1998-) Review

Category: Large Executive 3.5 out of 5

Summary of the Bentley Arnage (1998-)

Price Range: £200,400 to £200,400

Assets

Wonderful cabin ambience, comfort, heady turn of speed, exclusivity and hand-crafted appeal.

Drawbacks

Price, obviously, and the fact that mass-made cars are better made.

Verdict

Hugely soulful, though hardly rational.

Bentley Motors Arnage Review

On the road5 out of 5

Once you're used to the bulk, it's a piece of cake. Everything is heavily power-assisted, and the controls are laid out unusually but straightforwardly. The high eyepoint is a great advantage in traffic. This huge luxury liner is a lot more agile than you'd expect, and is quite happy to pick up its skirts and run, not just on the straights but on a twisting road, too. Just tell your passengers to hold on tight.

For a large saloon, immensely fast. The surprising thrill of being in a large and apparently stately saloon as it surges forward like this only adds to the experience. Turbo engine is relaxed, too; it seldom feels strained as it delivers the goods, and most of the time the automatic transmission is smooth.
