In quality terms, the Audi RS6 is based on the A6 range, a model that dominates its class for perceived quality. The plastics all feel expensive to the touch, while plenty of chrome and brushed aluminium brightens up a dark, classy businesslike cabin.
The RS6 ups the ante further by adding a pair of grippy and comfortable sports seats: our test car also came fitted with optional Alcantara headlining, a gorgeous flat-bottomed suede-wrapped steering wheel and about half an acre of real-looking carbon-fibre trim.
Built on the existing A6 range, it's also reassuring that in the most recent JD Power survey into owner satisfaction, the brand was placed in seventh place for satisfaction.
The A6 model itself also fared well, although some owners highlighted in the survey that it could suffer from a faulty dash that has now has been cured by a software upgrade on older models.
