Audi Q7 Review

Safety and Security4 out of 5

The Audi Q7 should remain one of the safest cars in its class. It came close to receiving five stars for occupant safety in the Euro NCAP crash tests; a ruptured footwell during testing was the reason for dropping that final star. Audi solved the problem immediately.

You get six airbags and Isofix child seat mounting points in all Q7s, but here you also get huge ceramic brakes with powerful six-piston callipers. On the road there's no doubting their stopping potential; an occasional added squeak is a small price to pay for fade-free braking, no matter how much you stamp on the big pedal.

All models gain tyre pressure sensors, while optional adaptive cruise control, lane assist and blind spot cameras will help improve safety further.
