Epic performance, imposing looks, decent fuel range.
Frightening cost, mammoth dimensions, likes a drink.
New V12 diesel is mind-bendingly quick, but the rest of the car can't keep up.

Residual values for the Audi Q7 have outperformed earlier predictions and now are among the best in the class.
The V12 Q7 has one advantage over the rest of the more humdrum range - its exclusivity. Only 40-50 cars will be imported each year, so the V12 may claw back more of its value, provided the used market comes to terms with the concept of a Q7 that costs £100,000.
Residual experts forecast retained values of between 35-39% for the Q7 range after three years or 60,000 miles. This compares with at least 60% for a Range Rover.
