Class-leading space and a marvellous cabin, off-the-scale quality, five star score in EuroNCAP crash tests, sharp-suited Avant estate brilliant for practicality.
Not the most sporting car in the class, evolutionary styling quite conservative.
Great space and a terrific atmosphere in the cabin make the A6 an absolute must for the executive shopping list.

Even though it competes with the likes of the BMW 5-Series, the Audi A6 has taken a big step in the direction of the large luxury segment. Yes, the biggest news here is that the A6 is now the longest and widest car in the class, and considerably bigger than the model it replaces. The A6 is 120mm longer, with an extra 83mm between the front and rear wheels, and 45mm wider than the old car. In fact, the A6 isn't much smaller, space wise, than its luxury A8 sibling. And the A6 actually has a more spacious boot. Audi is also claiming that the A6 is the most sporting choice in the executive class.
Style-wise, this is a measured and conservative evolution of what came before. The result is a handsome car with an aggressive, four-square stance. And, of course, there's the new corporate single-frame grille first seen on the A8.
