Smart looks, fine cabin quality, great range of petrol and diesel engines.
Not as fun to drive as a BMW, questionable ride quality on big wheeled models.
Revisions elevate A6 to the very top of the class.

On average, Audi claims it has slashed A6 emissions and fuel consumption by a creditable 15%.
King of the costs is no doubt the TDI E, which averages 53.3mpg and emits just 139g/km of carbon dioxide. It's a fine effort for a big car, but one that BMW betters: the current 520d just pips the Audi with its 55.4mpg and 136g/km of CO2. That said, both slip into VED Band C for road tax and the 18% BIK tax bracket for company car users.
Meanwhile those opting for the powerful supercharged V6 will be pleasantly surprised by its 30mpg average fuel consumption and 219g/km CO2 emissions, meaning it easily avoids the costly Band G road tax and slips into the 31% BIK company car tax bracket.
