This A4 mounted a serious challenge to the BMW 3 Series. A complete car.
No issues here. The A4 is staggeringly well-built, with great paint finish, panel fit and interior assembly, and it feels like it will last for centuries. There have been problems with ignition coil failure in the 1.8 20v petrol engine, but faulty engines will have been replaced or sorted out by now; otherwise, the engines are well-proven and should run to very high mileages. Problems have also been reported with the Multitronic gearbox, and with the suspension's anti-roll bars.
