Probably the best-made car in its class at the time, reflected in above-average reliability and excellent ongoing durability. Some problems have emerged with age and high mileage, inevitably. Look out for problems with the front suspension, failed catalytic converters and electrical and electronic issues (usually caused by water ingress). Servicing to schedule is particularly important for 1.8 20v engine, which has suffered timing belt and water pump failure.
