Audi A3 (1996-2003) Review

Category: Small Family 3.5 out of 5

Summary of the Audi A3 (1996-2003)

Price Range: £15,540 to £25,055

Assets

A hatch with a touch of subtle glamour, the A3 is superbly built, and has safety engineering second to none.

Drawbacks

Expensive and confined in the rear.

Verdict

Consider it as a classy, practical coupe (even the five-door), and you won't be disappointed. Don't consider it as an expensive Golf - it's too cramped.

Audi A3 Review

Overview3.5 out of 5

The smallest executive?

This is one of the classiest models of its type. It's pricey, but very well built, and has excellent crash protection. There are (very good) diesels, the S3 four-wheel drive hot hatch (reviewed separately), and three- and five-door hatchback versions.
