Fabulous looks, landmark cabin design and quality, great sound, potent performance, precise and interactive handling, inspired paddleshift transmission.
Awkward ignition switch, on the thirsty side.
A true rival to a Ferrari or a Porsche.

The usual complement of airbags - two front, two side - is present here in the DB9, the front ones having a two-stage operation according to the impact severity. Also helping its crashworthiness is the three-stage collapse of the front chassis rails, the first two sections being relatively easy to replace. If the impact is big enough to crumple the structure beyond the third part of the rail, behind the front wheels, then it was hardly going to be survivable anyway. The structure itself is extremely rigid.
Standard ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency brake assist and a pleasingly non-interventionist stability and traction control system help you avoid the accident in the first place. The ESP, the first ever on an Aston, is very effective, even on frosty roads. Security systems are as you would expect on a high-end car.
