Great looks, stable handling, high level of kit.
Limited dealer network, high running costs, offset driving position.
A great looking addition to the Alfa range - but just make sure you find a decent dealer.

The Spider is offered 'as is' - there are no trim levels to choose from. Thankfully, it's pretty well-equipped as standard with electric heated mirrors, 17" alloys, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, rear parking sensors and a six-CD autochanger. 3.2 V6 models get leather seats as standard (optional on smaller engines). Sat nav, stereo and wheel upgrades are offered. There are only two seats with some storage space behind them. The boot has a reasonable 200-litre capacity, and as the fabric roof folds away underneath a tonneau cover, boot space isn't compromised.
The roof folds away at the touch of a button in just over 25seconds, and there are no catches to release beforehand. A fixed wind deflector between the rollover hoops helps keep wind buffeting at bay, and does a reasonable job unless you're at high motorway speeds.
