Great looks, stable handling, high level of kit.
Limited dealer network, high running costs, offset driving position.
A great looking addition to the Alfa range - but just make sure you find a decent dealer.

Alfa Romeos are generally better-built than they used to be, but still carry a reputation for reliability and quality issues. To make matters worse, Alfa's dealership network is widely acknowledged as being less than helpful (most Alfa enthusiasts use independent specialists, of which there are many). This is, apparently, set to change over the coming months - dealers who don't conform to Alfa's new, higher standards will lose their franchises. Further new measures include the introduction of a UK-only quality control centre at the factory, plus a second quality check once the cars arrive in the UK.
First impressions of the Spider are good, with excellent fit and finish inside and out, and high quality materials used on the interior. Engines and mechanicals haven't caused any headaches in the Brera or 159 as yet, so should prove as trouble-free in the Spider.
