Beautiful, sounds wonderful, sheer exclusivity.
Huge price tag, thirsty, limited servicing outlets.
The 8C Spider is a big investment, but the pleasure from driving it and its exclusivity will ensure that it becomes a classic.

The 8C Competizione coupe has been shown off at many of the world's major car shows over the four years since its inception. Given its jaw-droppingly gorgeous looks, it's no surprise that the order list was oversubscribed before the first one was built.
However, for those unlucky punters who missed out, there's now another chance to snap up Alfa's beautiful supercar, in the shape of the new convertible version. So if you have a spare £25,000 for a deposit kicking around, here's your chance to get your name on a very exclusive list.
Alfa is building just 500 Spiders, using a Maserati-developed 4.7 litre V8 engine developing 450bhp. Built of aluminium and steel, and with copious amunts of carbon fibre, the 8C Spider is 90kg heavier than the Coupe. It's also quite a bit more expensive than the tin-top: at £174,000, owners will pay over £60K more to go topless.
For that kind of money, the whole experience has to be pretty spectacular. So is the 8C good enough to tempt buyers away from Ferrari's new California? Read on to find out.
