Alfa Romeo GTV (1996-2003) Review

Category: Affordable Sports 2.5 out of 5

Summary of the Alfa Romeo GTV (1996-2003)

Price Range: No data available

Assets

Styling is unmistakably an Alfa: bold and confident. Superb choice of engines. Legendary badge.

Drawbacks

Cheaper alternatives; dubious reliability; tiny rear seat and near- hopeless boot.

Verdict

Fabulous to look at and drive, and relatively easy to own (for an Alfa). A true Italian coupe.

Review

Overview2.5 out of 5

Cars of this type tend to look great but they aren't that practical, and the GTV is a good example. It has glamour by the bucketload, but little room for passengers and luggage. Still, it has distinctive styling, exciting performance and decent handling, and is a true Italian sports car on its way to becoming a classic. Two engines were offered - an excellent 2.0-litre and the brilliantly charismatic 3.0-litre V6. The range was revised in September 2003.
