I bought the cheapest Panda I could find - £5,200 brand new for the base model with no extras. And no regrets. I can honesty say, I am more pleased with this car than any other I have bought - value for money, practicality, looks, and sheer fun.
A great car to drive, provided you don't want to use it on the motorways where it can be noisy and lacking in acceleration. In town it has plenty of go and is a doddle to park, but where it really lives are the back lanes: the driving position, dash-mounted shift and wall of torque are so much fun. It is cheap to run: £35 tax, group 2 insurance and returning 63mpg, averaged over 20,000 miles. The dealer has been almost faultless but I'm on my third turbo and second gearbox in two years/20,000 miles.
What fun this little car is. It made me smile all the way. As an ex-Seicento driver I was wary of any replacement but this does it for me. Good road holding (although the steering was a bit interesting to start with) and excellent response to the throttle. The six speed box means that the engine, whilst very capable, is never over-taxed and still accelerates in the higher gears. Fiat have a knack for a cheap pocket rocket and there are plenty of toys for the gadget-conscious.
What a brilliant car! Owned from new for eleven months and both me and my tall husband are very impressed. Ignore petrol versions, this diesel engine (Multijet) is the winner in the range. Green creds: CO2 emissions are so low, with £35 ann road tax licence. Super, responsive diesel engine really excellent and regularly exceeds 70mpg on decent runs. Compact size for city driving but has 'Tardis' load abilities with rear seat down. Such fun to drive and purrs along on motorways. Test drive one and see what you've been missing!
Fantastic fun. Well built, entertaining to drive, spacious. Terrific standard kit, lovely 6 speed box and characterful engine with just the right amount of noise. Good at motorway speeds too. Few niggles - on Sport setting throttle is too jerky around town, ride harsh on poor surfaces and brakes/steering numb and too sensitive...but these pale into insignificance alongise the whole package. Great value for money, a hoot.
