Highly efficient as a company car with only 10% company car tax. Roomy enough for family use and a smooth drive. Could use more power at motorway speeds. Impressive original interior and controls.
Like the engine and battery combo - fair acceleration and good braking. Good automatic but noisy when going up steep hills. Steering light. Some problems with visibility due to pillar intrusion. Good economy - around 55mpg over 16,000 miles March-October 06. Faulty CD changer - replaced under warranty. Poor luggage capacity (partly due to window shape - could do with more of an estate car shape at the back). Hate the parking brake - footbrake rather than handbrake.
I chose the Prius as I'm a tight-wad company car driver and prefer the cash in my pocket. Really smooth drive, plenty of power from go and ample acceleration. Kit coming out of my ears with sat-nav (easy to use), bluetooth (great) and voice activation (fairly accurate). Loads of legroom all round and storage to spare. Very impressed with the package, just a bit disappointed that the steering wheel doesn't adjust for reach. Averaged 45mpg so far.
I have had the car for a year now and I am happy to say that it has been a very un-eventful year. It has done everything I could have asked of it without any fuss. The car is roomy and has a nice balance between confirm and firmness in its ride. I opted for the T4 as it seemed excessie to put down another £2K for the Sat Nav and Bluetooth. The only issue is of mileage which is is nowhere near the claimed figures. My average in the summer is around 55mpg with it dropping to 48mpg in the winter.
