Your keys, sir... Mine for a week and I'm pleased: I really like the look of the new C4 Picasso. The ride was smooth as silk and with all the space and comfort my wife questioned our sanity at owning a BMW that cost twice as much. On the motorway, I had similar thoughts! Seat back tables, arm rests, cooled drinks container - what more could a family want? Quality, that's what. Broken headrest, rear seat with a bent mechanism and loose trim, all in 8,000 kilometers. A design marvel but a quality flop.
Fuel economy is my only gripe, coming in at about 31mpg. Comfort, space and design are all excellent, as is the overall quality of the materials and build. Steering and suspension are somewhat soft but this is to be expected as the Grand C4 Picasso is a large vehicle designed for a relaxing drive rather than an exhilarating one. Owned vehicle since early March 2007 and completed 7,000 miles including Lake District roads such as the Wrynose Pass. Overall excellent family hauler with class.
I love the look of the C4 Picasso, especially inside, and I so wanted to like the car, but I think I'd rather have an S-Max. I found the C4P's ESG gearbox clunky in manual and often in too high a gear in auto, while the push-button handbrake is too far away and too slow to engage. I might get used to that, but not to having to roll my left foot sideways. In a car with such a clear floor, this is absurd, and it must be worse in the three-pedal versions. The S-Max is less exciting but works better.
