I have owned a Freelander before and I recently had a Grand Cherokee Ltd 4.0 litre but this Commander is a rugged, strong car, built for work. The power is amazing for a two-ton motor, it's reliable and comfortable. I've pulled trees up with it and even helped to pull a bungalow down. I love it. It will go just about anywhere and it returns on average 16mpg. I've achieved 32mpg at a steady 60mph. The only thing I don't like is the cheap handbrake lever.
