Very badly built and extremely noisy. Uses tremendous amounts of fuel and oil. Rides badly and handles appallingly. Dealers pretty useless and unhelpful, just interested in telling you what Toyota won't pay for (everything). Load space is a joke, sliding seat leaves holes in the floor and makes trim rattle even more. Parcel shelf must have cost 25p! Avoid - look at the new Jazz to see how it should be done.
I agree with a previous review - a big disappointment. Poor quality, dash noise, cheap interior and radio is no good. You cannot rest your clutch foot as there is limited room between the pedal and the bulk head. Very noisy and unrefined engine, uncomfortable after 40 miles, expensive for what it is. Toyota are living on their past reputation. Bought this before the Hyundai i30 came out, wish I had waited. The i30 is miles ahead of this and many others.
Overall, this car has been a big disappointment to me. It is expensive for such a small car but lacks a degree of refinement. It is full of rattles, the engine warning light has come on and the clutch is very severe. The audio system is poor too, plus some of the plastic trim is beginning to show signs of fatigue. I chose this car and really regret it - to me the Toyota hype is just a myth. I struggle to see any good in it.
The new yaris is one of Toyota's finest efforts, and in my opinion a front runner for the best in class accolade. I've owned mine since March this year and have covered about 6,000miles in it so far. I love the cheeky styling, its a really great looking car - in my opinion the best looking small hatch on sale The 1.3 engine provides eager performance with outstanding fuel consumption.
