The Civic Type-S is an excellent all-round family car let down by a few details. These are: far too low-geared in top for motorway crusing, no shaded area at top of windscreen and the windscreen wiper on driver's side leaves large area unswept. Passenger and boot room are excellent for the class - better than a Ford Focus. Performance is good, but fuel consumption is 20% below that claimed by Honda.
