Great little car! Excels in everything it's designed for. Cheap as chips to run. £35 road tax for the year and I believe it's going to be even cheaper next year. The petrol tank is a bottomless pit, never empties! Solidly built and plenty of room, gear change is smooth and precise. Cabin is surprisingly light and airy. It's dead easy to drive. Low C02 emissions make it just the job for eco-warriors. No wonder more and more of these cars are being seen on the roads.
14,000 miles after my last review of this car in June 2006, my Colt has been in the garage a couple of times...for a service! An absolutely 100% reliable car. Nothing inside has 'fallen off' and the paintwork is as good as new. No niggles and I still think it's good fun to drive. I plan to keep this car for the forseeable future. When I do replace it I shall be looking at either the new Mazda 2 or another Colt. I think I know where my money's going!
In the 10 months of owning the darned thing, the AA had to be called out twice, it totally died due to engine management failure. My dealer was unable to detect the problem, big inconvenience, two coils failed,& gear cable broke twice! Enough was enough, part-ex'd for a Mitsubishi Colt. Oh joy! The nightmare has ended!
I love this car! Lots of space, easy, but fun to drive. Economical, 50+mpg on a run. Simple but trendy dash with leather steering wheel & gear knob. Lively little engine that has a nice sound & pulls really well in 3rd. Rear seats move & fold - ideal for our camping trips! Just a lovely, versatile car with bags of character. It just amazes me why there aren't more on the roads. Go on, buy one. You won't be disappointed! Oh yeah, one more thing, Mitsubishi people are really nice too.
