Bought my first Grand Vitara in March 2006. Part-exchanged at 33,000 miles for same again at 18 months, and now after 12 months have 21,000 miles on the clock and averaging 37.8mpg. Looking forward to facelifted diesel. Have no complaints about either car, both have worked perfect. Have no qualms about getting another. Regarding your test on the 2008 facelifted petrol unit I cannot agree less - this car works. It was not designed to stay on roads all the time. The opposition would be left stuck in the dust, never mind the mud. Service great too.
