When I went looking for a diesel, there were only two real choices - German or French. Peugeot, Renault and Citroen diesels are reliable, but build quality is poor. The Audi/VW stable produces reliability, quality and, ultimately, cost. Fortunately, the hitherto Spanish Seat now has dual nationality, as such it has all the fantastic features of the VW Audi cars, the style and presence of a Spanish flamenco dancer, and a real flair and individuality - something you don't get with a Golf.
