After six months of ownership I can honestly say that I'm hugely impressed. The performance is superb: the 2.0 turbo gives all the power you are likely to need but the power delivery is smooth rather than being snappy and aggressive. The handling is always sure-footed: you always know where the limit is thanks to the communicative steering and chassis. Good mpg for a GTI - I average 32. Big boot too. It's every car you'd ever need in one: sportscar, practical family hatchback, runabout, cruiser.
