Titan with Navara
Titan with Navara - the sensible option

A justified choice?
But is that fine engine and a substantial loadbay enough to justify buying one of these brutes? Top-spec Titans retail for less than $30,000 in the US, around £17,000 at today's exchange rates - but find a UK importer willing to get one shipped over and you should expect to pay closer to £25,000. Fuel consumption is rated at 15mpg overall, but with a heavy foot you'll easily see that plummet to single figures. That thirst is just one reason why it's never going to be sensible to buy a Titan in the UK. If you need a big load bay to carry stuff then a diesel-powered pick-up like a Nissan Navara would do the job just as well. And if performance is what you're after buy something like a Subaru Impreza WRX estate. But of course most Titan buyers will have left reason behind when they signed the import documents - this vehicle is as much a style statement as anything.

So, if you've got deep pockets for the fuel bills (or shares in BP) and like a bit of Americana/Japanese quirkyness, then the Titan might be your thing. It's also a great tool to get dawdling Rover drivers out of your way - which is nice.
