  • Road Test: Toyota Picnic (1997-2001)
    Large MPV
    Toyota Picnic (97-01)
    DRIVING RATING:

As you would expect in a Toyota, the controls are light, smooth and precise in action. The switchgear is scattered, the driver's seat cushion is too flat and - surprisingly - the steering wheel isn't adjustable, but all-round visibility is good. Easy, fluid steering and a peppy engine make the Picnic an enjoyable drive for an MPV, but that soft damping makes it untidy if you're pressing on beyond its natural gait.
