The Forfour is built alonside the Mitsubishi Colt at a jointly-owned DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi factory in Holland (which, incidentally, used to make the Mitsubishi Carisma and Volvo S40). The interior finish on the cars we've tested is acceptable, with no disturbing rattles, squeaks or hums. It doesn't feel truly substantially constructed, swapping solidity for a novel, attractive fittings, but it feels better insulated than the Colt. It should be a pretty tough little thing, too, and as its structure and technology is more conventional than its styling suggests, there's not too much by way of complex trickery to go wrong.
