    SAFETY AND SECURITY RATING:

The entire Ibiza range features driver and front passenger airbags as standard, with optional curtain and side airbags making a potential total of six.

All five seats have three-point anchoring seatbelts and head restraints, the front seatbelts also having pre-tensioners. Child safety features include switchable airbags and Isofix connectors for child seats.

The new Ibiza range is equipped with ABS as standard, which has become the norm for this class. Traction control is standard on the FR and Cupra versions, and optional on the remaining three trim levels. ESP, which includes emergency braking assistance, is also standard on the Cupra but optional elsewhere.

In the event of a collision, a signal is sent from the airbag control unit to unlock the doors and automatically turn on the interior lights and hazard warning lights, the steering column collapses and brake pedal detaches itself.

There's an immobiliser and all the doors have deadlocks, with a standard-fit alarm on all but the base Reference models.
