The VW Lupo, the Arosa's sister model, performed extremely well in NCAP's independent crash tests, by scoring four stars (then the maximum possible, although it's now marked out of five). Arosas (1.4 16V Sport excepted) lack the Lupo's standard passenger airbag, but apart from that, the two should crash just about identically. When it comes to security, only the base model lacks central locking, which is standard on all other models, but only the 1.4 16V Sport gets an alarm.
