Crowd pleaserThe underpinnings of Seat's Arosa are basically the same as for Volkswagen's Lupo (Seat is part of the huge VW Group) but the Arosa is generally a few hundred pounds cheaper than the VW, albeit with a more limited range. The first version was released in 1997 and this current version was updated at the start of 2001. Under the skin, the changes were fairly minor, but the Arosa has been given a more recognisable face and a much improved interior - the latter coming from the VW Lupo. The Arosa may not be as funky to look at as the Lupo, or Ford's Ka, but it's economical, roomy and good value for money.
