| RELIABILITY AND QUALITY RATING: |
 |
Some minor niggles and variable build quality, but the basic engineering is good (thanks to Honda input, which tells you how old the design is), and long-term fleet 45s have proved that reliability's no big issue. There have been some well-publicised problems with head gasket failure in the K-Series petrol engines, but this should have been sorted now. Interiors can be creaky and squeaky. The 45 merits three stars, however, partly because it is too old-school to feature much complex electronic and electrical trickery, meaning that there's less to go wrong.
