This is the hardest thing for a manufacturer to earn and Porsche has image to spare. A continuing racing heritage and a 911 pedigree that stretches back around 40 years are all part of the legend. Most significantly you don't have to know anything about cars to be aware that the 911 is fast, stylish and highly desirable. It can be the target of envy, however.
