| COMFORT AND EQUIPMENT RATING: |
 |
A lower seating position, a steering wheel that is now rake and reach adjustable and improved switchgear and control location have made the 911 a more comfortable place to spend time. The glovebox is a reasonable size and there is cubby storage in the centre console and in the doors. Even the front end luggage compartment is a little bigger, with enough volume to easily take a week's worth of holiday odds and ends for two people. The rear seats, though, remain vestigial at best. And one of the 911's strongest suits remains - outward visibility is the best you'll find in any supercar, and combined with compact dimensions, this 180mph-plus car is ridiculously easy to drive.
In standard form, the front chairs are supportive and comfortable, but Porsche offers the option of 'adaptive' seats with bolsters on the seat squab and backrest that can be electrically adjusted to hug the occupants even more firmly. And then there are the cupholders - purists may balk, but they're actually quite clever bits of kit that hide behind a sliver of trim on the passenger side of the facia.
