A 406 forté. The ride has a liquid, roll-along feeling, yet it never becomes floaty or nausea-inducing, and the cabin is quiet. It's a relaxing car in which to be a passenger, even when the driver is having a good time. The facia design is generic and dull, though. Pretty good: it feels a big car. Cabin storage space is good, too, and the rear seats fold even though the 406 is a saloon and not a hatch. Steering-column stalk salvages what would otherwise be an impossibly fiddly system. Radio reception tends to be poor.
