    SAFETY AND SECURITY RATING:

The 107/C1/Aygo trio scored a four-star rating in the EuroNCAP crash tests, a great score when the cars' size and assembly costs are taken into account. Other cars in the city car class such as the Kia Picanto and Fiat Panda managed just three stars.

Four airbags are fitted as standard on the 107, one each for driver and passenger and two side 'bags to help cushion the blow in a side-on collision. Curtain airbags which stretch back to cover the rear passengers are an option. ISOFIX mounting points are fixed to the rear seats, and the front passenger airbag can be switched off if a rear-facing child seat is installed. ABS anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and cornering stability control round off the 107's safety credentials.

A rolling-code immobiliser and remote central locking are standard security provisions, with an alarm available as a dealer-fit option.
